Antimicrobial Resistance is a threat to global health, with rising superbugs, it’s time to revive a treatment that was first used more than a century ago – Phage therapy; researchers are working on this treatment approach all over the world. This approach involves the usage of bacteria-killing viruses against superbugs, which of course needs to be backed up with accurate diagnosis of the bacterial strain causing infection and the phage required to fight it. The treatment method comes with challenges of its own, but with promising clinical trials, this is an important approach that we need to focus on to fight against AMR.
